Also, just want to give a quick reminder. Rockstar Auto Conference has a ton of amazing events coming up and we don’t want you to miss them. Make sure you go like the Rockstar Auto Conference page on all social media if you have not yet. That way you can keep up and grab tickets to these exclusive events before they are gone!

Automotive Industry events:

I have been researching and speaking to many people throughout the industry and this topic came up many times. We are going to talk about Coaching, training, automotive industry events and what the ultimate cost is. The first topic I want to touch on is Auto industry events! I will be honest. I have been to one event. Only one! I don’t have anything to compare it to. I am here to tell you it changed everything. I was around people in the industry. Some for a couple of years some for 30 plus! It changed my mindset. It changed my goals and how I looked at my work, my dealership and this industry. Sure, it cost my dealership money to send me there. But, I have been told on more than one occasion they were glad I went. They said I came back after just one event a completely different employee and they could see that the fire I had was now an inferno for learning and changing. Being around different people from all over with various experience in all parts of the dealership showed me how much the automotive industry can be the same but so very different. It was a place where we could bounce ideas off each other and share experiences. It cost my dealership money to send me. But like I said, they agreed the return on this investment was much greater than a ticket and hotel room.

Coaching & Training:

Here is the topic of all topics. Coaching and training. They go hand in hand. I am a true believer in the ripple effect. Really think about this. We are constantly being told coach your staff and train your staff on everything! Who is training the managers? Your BDC manager? Your Service Manager? Your sales managers? How else are you as a dealership suppose to know what the industry is doing? Set the appointment! We will figure it out later. Tell them the car is here no matter what. We will figure it out later. Tell them Yes on any deal they want. We will figure it out later. Are you willing to take that risk anymore? Are you willing to hope they decide to shop around all over the internet and your pep talk was good enough to bring them in. Give the consumers what they want and, what they need. How do we do that? Bring in a coach to train your entire staff on what other dealerships are doing. New programs, new processes, new incentives for the staff. Building customer retention through the roof! Making your sales staff confident in what they are doing every day. Look for webinars, ask around! Get on social media and branch out. See what you can find out. Think about this. Everything has gone digital. The consumer is drowning themselves in information they don’t know which way is up. Training and coaching are the key to success hands down. It will cost your dealership money, of course! But how much money are you losing from employees who don’t have the proper training?

Thanks again guys for taking the time to read. I appreciate it! Another huge shout out to Mat and Chris from Rockstar Auto Conference. Changed my life and I can promise, they will change yours.
